400th Anniversary of KJV
In this 400th anniversary year of the publication of the King James Bible, we are encouraging everyone to think about their personal Bible reading. As part of this we are encouraging people to bring their own Bible to Church and continue their reading throughout the week.
Common Prayer is a new daily liturgy book with prayers and Bible readings that we are making use of at the Later Service. It is availble at Wesley Owen. You can also see it online at www.commonprayer.net where the daily liturgy is posted.
There will also be a new edition of the NIV, the Bible most of us use, later this year, or early next. The text of this new edition is already available on the website www.biblegateway.com.
The new text is a significant improvement on the old NIV and it is likely that the version will begin to appear in our services in the Bible readings that are projected on the screens so that we can begin to get used to it.
